Defender Miki Roque spent four years at Anfield during the Rafael Benitez era before returning to Spain, where his young life was tragically cut short by cancer.
The centre-back joined Liverpool from Lleida in the summer of 2005 and was part of the 2006 FA Youth Cup winning team, scoring in the final against Manchester City.
Roque made his first-team debut as a substitute in a Champions League group stage match against Galatasaray on December 5, 2006 - but it was to be his one and only outing for the Reds at senior level.
Later that season he enjoyed two months on loan at League One outfit Oldham Athletic, where he featured in nine games.
The 2007-08 campaign was spent with Spanish club Xerez CD, followed by a year at Cartagena before he was released by Liverpool in 2009.
Roque was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 while on the books of Real Betis and died aged just 23 in June 2012.
