Goalkeeper Stephen Pears is a legend amongst Middlesbrough supporters but he did have a short spell at Anfield.

He was a short-term solution in the 1995-1996 season. Michael Stensgaard injured himself while ironing at home and Roy Evans desperately needed a back-up keeper. Pears never played a match but stayed on the bench as cover for David James.
