No.8: Geoff Strong
Geoff Strong was physically sick after experiencing Shankly's intense training methods for the very first time. Nevertheless, the jack-of-all-trades - he could comfortably excel in practically any position on the pitch - was a vital component of the Scot's first great Liverpool side. Having played in the 1965 FA Cup final triumph, Strong bagged the goal which guided the Reds to the 1966 Cup Winners' Cup showpiece and claimed a league championship medal in the same season.
