PSV Eindhoven have brought out the big investment guns to force a transfer for Sporting Lisbon defender and Liverpool target Tiago Ilori, according to Voetbal International.
Ilori, who has spent just five months as an official senior player with Sporting, is also understood to be in Valencia's plans for this summer.
PSV have jumped in for a move, and are expected to use the backing of noted investment company Doyen Sports, who are known to have ties with Sporting.
They will be expected to partly fund PSV's attempts at signing Ilori, who Liverpool were hoping to secure earlier this summer.
At just 20 Ilori has not made a large impact with Sporting having played just 11 times in the Primeira League last season.
However, he has been a regular in the reserve team and also took part in this summer's U20 World Cup for Portugal.
