Real Madrid have stepped up the pace in their efforts to acquire Granada left-back Guilherme Siqueira, with Los Blancos facing competition from a number of clubs for the 27-year-old, including Liverpool.
The Brazilian has come to the attention of several of Europe's biggest sides, with the likes of Galatasaray, Everton, Liverpool and Real Madrid keen, and is unlikely to start the new campaign at La Liga minnows Granada.
Last season Siqueira made 35 appearances in the Spanish top flight for Granada, even finding the back of the net on six occasions.
Indeed, the Brazilian, who boasts Italian citizenship, helped Granada to avoid relegation, with the club finishing 15th in the 20-team top flight.
Now, according to Spanish daily Marca, Real Madrid are bidding to beat off the competition for Siqueira, whom they see as a successor to the out-of-favour Fabio Coentrao.
Siqueira joined Granada from Serie A outfit Udinese in 2010, initially on loan.
That deal was made permanent in 2011 and Siqueira is under contract at Granada until 2017.
