Liverpool have identified Sevilla winger Diego Perotti as a potential summer signing after Kenny Dalglish revealed that the club wanted to add some creative flair to help bring the best out of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.
Dalglish was forced to watch his Liverpool side struggle to find the right delivery for his new striker partnership and immediately made it clear that players would arrive at the end of the season.
"We signed Andy Carroll for five-and-a-half years, not for three weeks. [In the summer] we'll analyse what we need. Andy is going to be part of our team, so is Suarez, so we need a combination of players who are going to be complementary to what we have," said Dalglish after the game.
Liverpool seem to have already secured the services of French midfielder Sylvain Marveaux for next season, but it seems the club are far from satisfied with their current midfield.
Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic have failed to reproduce the type of form that saw them shine for their former clubs and it now seems as though two new wingers are high on the Merseyside clubs agenda.
According to reports in Talksport, Liverpool have turned their attention to Sevilla's attacking midfielder Perotti who has been in fantastic form for the La Liga club.
The Argentinean has the ability to play on either wing and is renowned for his searing pace and quality delivery from the flanks.
The Argentine winger is still just 22-years-old and is contracted until 2015, but it is understood that Sevilla may be prepared to do business in the summer, if a substantial offer arrives.
Sevilla are currently sixth in the league, and do not look like being able to secure Champions League football, lying nine points behind Villarreal in fourth, and are rumoured to be willing to sell Perotti for around £16 million.
The talented winger has scored three goals this season, including one in the 3-1 win over Zaragova at the weekend, as well as providing three assists in his 22 league games.
Liverpool are already said to be interested in Aston Villa winger Ashley Young and Wolves midfielder Matt Jarvis, but Perotti may also be a viable option should the talented winger decide to leave Spain at the end of the season.
