Fulham have strongly rejected an inquiry by Liverpool about their striker Bobby Zamora.
During Liverpool's negotiations to sign Paul Konchesky, the possibility of securing Zamora was also raised with the Fulham hierarchy.
Both players worked with Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage and he is a great admirer of Zamora as well as Konchesky who has been desperate to move to Anfield.
Fulham are adamant that Zamora, who would be in the England squad but for injury, is not for sale. The 29-year-old has undergone a dramatic turnaround in his career after almost being sold to Hull City last summer.
Liverpool are also considering a bid for West Ham's Carlton Cole with Hodgson determined to add a powerful striker to his squad before the transfer window closes today.
An offer is yet to be made for Cole and there will be serious concerns, given his fitness record, as to whether he can adequately pass a medical. Its also unclear whether West Ham would be willing to sell at this late stage.
