Mail: Reds close to Cissokho loan

Liverpool are hopeful of closing a loan deal for Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho. 

The Anfield club would pay an initial loan fee of around £850,000 with an agreement to pay a further £3.5million to buy the player outright next summer.

The 25-year-old France international joined Valencia from Lyon for £7m but the Spanish side are cutting costs after missing out on the Champions League.

Sunderland have also made an enquiry for Cissokho but are resigned to the player choosing Liverpool.
