Metro: Klopp could seal Mauro Icardi transfer

Liverpool are hoping to use the influence of Jurgen Klopp to beat Arsenal to the signing of Mauro Icardi, say reports.

Icardi has been strongly linked with the Gunners in recent days with Arsene Wenger believed to be offering big money to sign him.

But Fichajes says Liverpool are also desperate to sign the player and the influence of the charismatic Klopp could help proceedings.

It's suggested that Icardi could favour a switch to Anfield because of the German, leaving Arsenal pretty frustrated.

Inter are keen to hang onto the striker in January despite the fact he's only managed four goals in 12 games this term.
