Arsene Wenger is ready to beat Liverpool and Tottenham to the signing of another young star.

The Gunners' transfer policy regularly sees the club picking up bright talents, and now 20-year-old winger Bernard is reportedly on his way to the Emirates.

The Atletico Mineiro star had been linked with a move to the Premier League with either Tottenham or Liverpool but now Arsenal have entered the race.

French paper L'Equipe reports that the winger will fly to London this week to undertake a medical at the Gunners ahead of a five-year deal that will earn him €3m a year.

A host of clubs have been in the hunt for Bernard including Dortmund, Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto.

He featured twice for Brazil in their Confederations Cup win this summer.
