Benfica have sounded out Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk over the availability of Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka - and that could prompt several Premier League clubs into making enquiries of their own.

The 24-year-old is being eyed by five English sides, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

But Benfica are also keen on the player and have, according to reports in Portugal, contacted his club side Dnipro over a possible January move.

Konoplyanka, who has scored eight times in 35 international outings, is regarded as one of the stars of the current Ukraine side.

He scored against England in a 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw at Wembley last year and has netted eight goals for Dnipro in all competitions this season.
