Pedro Philippou joined Liverpool's backroom team in September 2012 and brought with him a rich pedigree of experience in elite-level sport.

Philippou was involved in 16 world-title boxing fights before moving on to join the Britain's athletics team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

In 2005, he made his first move into football when he joined Chelsea.

He departed Stamford Bridge in May 2011 and joined up with the British men and women's basketball teams at the 2012 Olympics before the chance to move back into football and with Liverpool arrived.
