Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has told Speyer that he wants those clubs reportedly keen on Roberto Soldado to make their intentions known sooner rather than later.
The Spain international has been generating plenty of speculation, but no official bids have been tabled as yet.
The situation as it stands is far from ideal for all concerned, with Valencia and their star striker facing up to an uncertain future.
Soldado wants to know where he will be turning out in 2013/14, while his current employers are eager to discover whether they will need to bring in a replacement.
Valencia do not want the issue to be left until the end of the summer window, giving them no time in which to make a move of their own, and Salvo is said to have set a deadline of 3rd August for any deal to be struck.
On Soldado, who is rumoured to be interesting Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, he told Speyer: "The message we have to give is that we need tranquillity.
"If Soldado leaves in the near future, near to the end of the transfer window, we will have to find a replacement."
